Youth Education Employment Empowerment Project (YEEEP) is a joint initiative between the Government of Sindh and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) that seeks to collaborate with the private sector, academia, and civil society organizations to consolidate positive social change in poverty-stricken communities across Sindh, where adolescent and adult youth are vulnerable to violence and extremism triggered by acute economic marginalization and other social or cultural factors.
The project aims to harness the potential of youth for inclusive employment, sustainable economic growth, and market connectivity by developing the skill set in high demand trades such as garment/textile, automotive, construction, agriculture/livestock and other service sectors including customer care, health care, education and ICT, and other market-driven trades to enable the adolescent or adult youth of Sindh to acquire sustainable livelihoods.
YEEEP is operational in 16 Districts of Sindh, namely, Khairpur, Thatta, Jamshoro, Umerkot, Karachi West, Kemari-Karachi, Karachi-Malir, Karachi Korangi, Badin, Naushahro Feroze, Hyderabad, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Sukkur, Larkana, and Jacobabad.
Through partnerships, the project aims to train and employ 15,000 youth across Sindh, between ages of 18 and 35 years with 50% women participants as well as other minorities and differently abled youth.
